hool by the United States Department of Education.
Since 1982, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has honored America’s most successful public and private schools. According to the U.S. Department of Education, “Blue Ribbon Schools are nationally recognized as some of America's most successful schools. The award acknowledges and validates the hard work of students, staff members, families, and communities in reaching high levels of student achievement.”
Westlake was selected as an Exemplary High-Performing School, which means our standardized test scores have consistently been among the highest in the nation in reading and mathematics. Though Westlake qualified by showing that our standardized test scores are consistently in the top ten percent in the nation, Westlake earned the Blue Ribbon award because we demonstrated that our entire school program is built around best practices that result in exemplary student performance.
Westlake proves that high academic achievement and spiritual development go hand-in-hand. Our Blue Ribbon award is symbolic of our community spirit and a validation of all of the hard work done by our teachers, staff, students, and parents. It’s fulfilling to know that our commitment to teach the minds and reach the hearts of our students was recognized and honored.
