The Mathematics program is geared to help students develop an appreciation for mathematics and an understanding of its use in a complex world. Both national and international benchmarks are used in choosing appropriate math curriculum that is suitable for our learners. Students study concepts over consecutive years through a variety of formats. Each grade level extends the concept understanding so students approach new challenges from an established foundation.

Math instruction develops the five broad areas of Algebra, Numbers and Operations, Geometry, Measurement, and Data Analysis. Students develop an understanding of math concepts, fluency in math procedures, and real-world problem solving through hands-on interactive math lessons.  Math topics are taught in depth building a solid conceptual understanding through a focus on problem solving that prepares them for higher level skills in the upper grades. Teachers use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners through whole group, small group, and independent activities.
