Personal Information:
As the daughter of an International Manager, I had the unique opportunity to reside in Australia, the Philippines, Japan, and Puerto Rico. I returned back to the United States as a Senior in High School, living in Westport, Connecticut. Following my graduation, I attended Tulsa University in Oklahoma until the school began a phase out of their Early Childhood Education program. At the very same time, my parents moved to Cincinnati, Ohio which aided in my decision to transfer schools and continue pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1990 and have been teaching ever since! I have two incredible children, a boy in High School and a girl who will be starting middle school this year. They mean the world to me and I have been truly blessed! When I am not busy with them, my passion and calling is in teaching Kindergarten. I am always amazed at the growth and learning I am witness to each and every year at this level. That I am but a small vessel to these miraculous changes contributes to my need to continually improve on myself as an educator!
Special Interests:
I enjoy gourmet cooking and reading. I especially like time out on the water and in a boat with a fishing rod in hand. To that end, a large bass on the other end of the pole is even better! I enjoy meeting people and traveling as well. Most of my time, however, is centered on reading current research on best practices in teaching.
