Westlake Christian School was established on a strong Christian foundation in 1995 as a ministry of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church. The school offers a challenging curriculum and a safe, nurturing environment for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The curriculum is designed to meet the educational needs of students who are performing at or above grade level. Westlake is a fully accredited member of the Florida Council of Independent Schools.

WCS admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance programs, athletic programs and other school-administered programs. Kindergarten students are expected to be 5 years old by September 1 and demonstrate readiness for kindergarten through a school-administered screening.

Students already enrolled at WCS and students enrolled at The Robin's Nest and/or Stars and Comets, and members of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church, are given preference to register during a limited enrollment period. The application process includes the submission of a completed application, copies of recent report cards and achievement tests, birth certificate and Florida immunization record and paid registration fee followed by an interview with an administrator.
