Technology Mission Statement
The school has a technology plan in support of the school’s mission and philosophy. “At Westlake Christian School, we guide and inspire students to develop their God given potential, while fostering a lifelong love of learning, in a nurturing Christ centered environment.”
"Lifelong learning is a process for both teachers and students.” As a result Westlake encourages, instructs, and infuses the use of technology within the classrooms and throughout the school experience. Lifelong learning can be obtained with the use of a technology, where Christian values are emphasized at chapel and in the classrooms. At WCS our goal is to prepare our students for the challenges of a secular world with Christian values for the use of technology and elsewhere. Ethical and moral issues are presented as challenging decisions for the Westlake community. WCS expects our students, staff, and teachers to make appropriate decisions based on Christian values in the use of technology.
Our Vision for the use of Technology
Westlake Christian School has a responsibility to encourage, engage, and promote productive students. For this process to be effective our faculty, administration, and staff must be modeling the standards set forth in the new NETS. WCS is advancing from the information age into a proactive technological digital age. Our faculty, administration, staff, and most importantly our students are proactive in plugging into the digital age and connecting with the secular community with the necessary technology tools to shine as a digital Christian citizen.
