Westlake Christian School provides a relevant, integrated school experience that incorporates Christian teachings and models Christian values. It is a vital part of our program – indeed it is what separates us from other school environments – and all members of the Westlake family are expected to participate.
Virtue of the Month
WCS utilizes reThink’s 252Basics program as our centerpiece for Christian moral and character development. This school-year program features a monthly virtue, scripture memory, and mid-week connections to help teach our students Bible-based decision-making strategies, problem-solving techniques, ethical standards, and values that we believe are necessary to instill a Christian life and world view.
Bible Instruction and Christian Worldview Formation
Teachers are the “living curriculum” at Westlake. They lead daily devotions, prayer, and integrate their lessons with God’s Word and worldview. WCS has adopted Positive Action’s Bible curriculum and all students are exposed to the Word as a part of their school experience.
Chapel, Student Ministry and Special Events
WCS students attend weekly chapels that incorporate age-appropriate worship and a challenging message or lesson.Elementary chapel is held on Monday mornings and Middle School Chapel is held on Wednesday mornings. Parents and visitors are always welcome! All WCS students participate in ministry, missions, and outreach opportunities in our area. We hold an annual Spiritual Emphasis Week on campus and participate in special activities for See You at the Pole and the National Day of Prayer.
