Elementary School Program
All students participate in a weekly Music Education class that features Orff instruments, choral training, recorder and percussion instruction, and training in music theory, music appreciation, and music performance.
All students in the 4th and 5th grade also participate in our Instrumental Music program where they receive instruction in concert brass, woodwinds, and percussion.
Elementary students may also participate in after-school extra-curricular music programs that include a Rhythm Club for K-2 students and the Westlake Eagle Chorus, a competition Choir for 3rd-5th grade students.
Westlake students participate in local, regional and state music competitions, and perform at local events and community programs.
Middle School Program
Westlake Christian School offers several music electives as a part of the middle school curriculum. Students study advanced techniques under the direction of accomplished teachers and musicians and may choose from offerings such as Chorus and Concert Band.
Students also participate in local, regional, and state competitions, and may join “The Westlake Singers,” an acapella group.
